FT. LAUDERDALE – In a final drive to enlist Floridians to head to the ballot box on Election Day, Senator Chris Smith (D-Ft. Lauderdale) will be erecting tents tomorrow as central engagement centers at four Broward County high schools. The Get Out The Vote (GOTV) tents will be staffed with volunteers ready with maps and election reminders students and other civic-minded community members will distribute throughout local neighborhoods to remind residents to vote. Senator Smith, who will be stopping at each of the tent locations, is encouraging the public to donate an hour of their time by joining him as he and others fan out to knock on doors of registered voters in the local communities and leave reminders if they’re not at home.
The location of the GOTV tents will be as follows:
Blanche Ely High School, 1201 NW 6th Ave, Pompano Beach
Dillard High School, 2501 NW 11th St, Fort Lauderdale
Stranahan High School, 1800 SW 5th Pl, Fort Lauderdale
Boyd H. Anderson High School, 3050 NW 41st St, Lauderdale Lakes
The tents will be in operation on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4th, from 9 a.m. until polls close at 7 p.m.
